
This concentration provides students the opportunity to learn with digital film-making tools and processes for the purpose of articulate
self-expression in this audio/visual medium. Skills in teamwork and communication will be taught as well as outlining, scriptwriting, and storyboarding. The students will occupy the Final Cut Pro digital video editing lab in Addams Hall. There will be a balanced presentation of theory, technical skills, concepts, and practice, and will include but is not limited to visual vocabulary, representation strategies and genres, point of view, motion study, camera use and technology, editing theory and practice, combining music, words, and image, and titles and special effects. All materials and equipment (Final Cut Pro double monitor MacPro dual processor workstations, Sony TRV17, TRV25, VX2000, VX 2100 and Panasonic p2 cameras, Lowell light kits, Sennheiser microphones) are all provided. Each student will have his or her own workstation. Additional work stations include a sound workstation and an HD workstation. Students with any level of experience may participate in this concentration.
